KAIST’s College of Business is exerting efforts to create an entrepreneurial culture and expand its professional network.

Startup Dreams Come True! Startup Awards!

Startup Awards KAIST 2017 was organized by the College of Business Alumni Association to establish an entrepreneurial culture and maximize value. The Awards is open to all KAIST alumni and students with startup ideas. Winners not only receive prize money, but also mentoring by alumni entrepreneurs and venture investors, including the organizer Jae-jung Kwon (first graduating class of Techno MBA, 19th president of College of Business Alumni Association).

In 2018, the Awards doubled the number of winning teams compared to the previous year. The total prize money amounted to KRW 25 million, and winners were given the opportunity to attend the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Through the Startup Awards, participants can enjoy mentoring from experts in technology and business, expand their professional network, acquire seed money, and receive consulting on attracting investments. These benefits are expected to help lay a stronger foundation for potential entrepreneurs.

Non-winning teams are also offered practical advice based on their business proposals. In sum, the Awards is the only alumni-led startup supporting event at KAIST.
